Piston Seals – Single Acting

    This SPA style asymmetric single acting piston seal is designed to offer efficient bore sealing in a range of applications. The outer dynamic lip is shorter to improve compression set and sealing over conventional U-rings. SPA’s are fitted with anti-extrusion rings manufactured from POM to improve extrusion resistance. They are easy to install due to flexibility, operate with a wide temperature range and exhibit high wear resistance.

    This SPC style piston seal has a cup design, with a centre hole. It can be utilised in single and double acting, pneumatic and light duty applications and wide tolerance bores. The inside diameter is adjustable for different sized spigots. SPC’s are manufactured from nitrile rubber.

    This SPG single acting piston seal is a space-saving low friction glide ring typically used in tandem to buffer and protect the primary piston seal from pressure spikes. Typical materials used are filled PTFE and an NBR energiser ring. The PTFE ring has low frictional properties but it is strengthened with an additive to reduce creep. The ring also eliminates slip stick due to a low break out friction. A wide range of materials are also available for special purpose designs.

This seal can be used in either single acting or back to back in double acting applications and are easy to install. SPU’s have a robust design and are made from high grade polyurethane with excellent resistance to wear and extrusion, and a wide temperature range.

    This SPW style single acting piston seal is suitable for high pressure applications and large extrusion gaps. They are often used in heavy duty applications, mining operations and can be used in tandem with wear rings in the gland. SPW’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane to provide high wear resistance, the nitrile rubber energiser ring offers low pressure sealing and the anti-extrusion ring is made from acetal.

At low pressures the energiser increases sealing force preventing bypass. These seals can be fitted back to back for double acting applications. They are easy to install due to flexibility, have excellent abrasion resistance, and are stable due to the deep profile. SUA’s are manufactured from polyurethane with an nitrile o-ring energiser.

    This SUF style single acting rod and piston seal is designed for general medium to heavy duty applications. They are manufactured from a rubberised fabric U-ring bonded to a nitrile rubber energiser. The energizer provides effective sealing at low pressures due to pre-loading from the housing. The u-ring allows effective sealing as the pressure increases. The rubber fabric of the u-ring provide strength and durability. SUF’s are able to contain lubricant, reduce friction and wear.

    This SUU style single acting rod and piston seal has symmetrical lips allowing to be used for both rods and pistons. The deep groove ensures linear movement and low friction at low pressures. SUU’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane and therefore have a high modulus and abrasion resistance and a low compression set.
